“Look deep into nature and you will understand everything better.” – Albert Einstein This quote by Albert Einstein tells us how much we need to reclaim our love for nature and how essential it is in our lives. In today’s fast paced world, where we constantly have to be on ‘go’ at all times, it is only in nature that we are truly able to find peace. So, how can you incorporate some quality time with nature into your daily rigorous schedule? Well, here’s where FINS (Fun in Nature’s School) comes in. This adventure camp organizing team is based in NCR and they strive to introduce children, young adults, families and corporate personnel to the wonders and beauty of nature. What is FINS all about? FINS ( Fun In Nature’s School) - like the name suggests - is all about teaching people from different walks of life to have fun, let loose and enjoy themselves while learning about nature. The various adventure camps and programmes organised by FINS are aimed at bringing people out of the suffocating environments of metropolitan cities and giving them a brief respite from all the troubles and worries that surround them. They teach people to embrace nature wholeheartedly. Through their teachings, they also encourage you to absorb the beauty of nature into the very depth of your soul. FINS also gives great importance to ecotourism and tries to introduce adventure camp participants to it as much as possible. The focus on learning wholeheartedly about local culture and traditions and they also do their best to reduce the impact of human living on the environment. Why is the outdoors essential for both children and adults? As a child, in the past, most of us were encouraged to run freely outdoors and take part in lots of fun physical activities like sports. If we were lucky enough to be living in an area surrounded by trees and fields, we would also get a chance to go on daily walks and just absorb all the wonders of nature that are so evident in our surroundings. Gone are the days when we used to eagerly run home from school, finish our home work in a jiffy and run out to play with the kids from neighbouring houses. Today, our lifestyle and culture has changed to such an extent that children are hooked to television, laptop or their mobile phones during their free time. Studies have shown that this lack of contact with nature has resulted in a negative effect, especially on children, in the form of: · Difficulty in maintaining a healthy weight · Increased exposure to diabetes · Poor performance in academics · Depression · Stress issues · Difficulty with maintaining focus and concentration Spending a healthy amount of time outdoors is also beneficial for adults. The various benefits that adults get from being amidst nature are relief from depression and anxiety, boost in levels of empathy, lower blood pressure, improved cognition and reduction in stress levels. Forget about the research. You’re only on this earth for a limited period of time. So, why not make the most of it spending time with your loved ones enjoying everything that nature has to offer? Contact FINS today and find out how the outdoors can make a real difference in all spheres of your life. From the day we are born ,we are surrounded by gadgets, mother speaking on the mobile to relatives, father shooting through a handy cam , sister taking pictures of the new born through the i.pad . With our age the role as well as importance of these gadgets increases in our lives. The elder we are, the more will we demand these gadgets. It is just one of the reasons of children turning lethargic and unhealthy these days, there are many more to count . No matter what the reason is, the crux is that children these days are so busy and gadget freak that they do not prefer going outside in the sun and playing some games which would improve their health. Most of them prefer playing board games or video games instead of running in the playground. There is a need to inculcate the habit of playing and doing outdoor activities in the children so as to ensure a healthy future for them. Outdoor games are must in a child’s life, may be this is the reason why our ancestors were healthier than us!! May be because they were subjected to outdoor activities and games for health as well as entertainment
Outdoor plays are the best for young ones as they it is a necessity for their health, growth and development. It enables them to master their physical skills and develop some moral qualities like leadership and teamwork in them. On one hand, they are exercising and building their body strength and immune system and on the other one they are learning and nurturing their skills, thus learning how to work in a team, interact and communicate. They learn how to leap jump ,run ,throw ,catch ,shoot , control these skills are not just helpful in the games but are often helpful in the daily lives also. The art of controlling is automatically nurtured as children indulge in outdoor activities and games. But the most important reason why children need to get indulged in outdoor activities is because it burns calories. In the recent years it has been seen that the number of children suffering from obesity has gradually increased and is still counting, there is a serious need to inculcate the habit of playing in the children so as secure their lives and future. Studies have shown ,that around 60% children do not even see the sun in their day ,there is not only a moral but a biological need also to make them go out and indulge in different activities. It has been proven that to promote aesthetic development it is very important to play outside because nature is filled with beauty, there are beautiful sounds ,eye pleasing sights , and the perfect way to feel alive and refreshed. Out in the nature children see beautiful birds , animals , plants , and develop some real and new knowledge themselves with the help of their senses. So no matter how much sunny it is..teach your child to go out and discover his/ her new side everyday!! |
